Police arrested 40-year old Mikel Ralson for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after shooting into a vehicle occupied by three individuals on Wednesday night.
Around 8:33 pm, the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a shooting that occurred in the Forest Chapel area of Lamar County.
Lamar County Deputies and the Texas Department of Public Safety quickly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, Deputies learned that 40-year-old Mikel Ralson had shot into a vehicle occupied by three individuals.
Ralson was swiftly located and taken into custody at the scene.
He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The victims received treatment for minor injuries and were released.
“I thank my Deputies, Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Pct. 2 Constable, Chicota VFD, Powderly VFD, Paris EMS, and the Lamar County Emergency Management Coordinator for their prompt response. Due to this cooperation, a very dangerous situation was quickly secured, and a dangerous person was removed from our community,” said Sheriff Scott Cass.
Ralson is currently being held in the Lamar County Jail pending arraignment.
