Man arrested after deputies find drugs and cash during traffic stop

A Blossom man is behind bars today after a traffic stop on Tuesday night lead to the discovery of drugs and cash in his vehicle.

 

Shortly after 8 p.m. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Blossom for defective equipment.  

“During the traffic stop, Deputies noticed illegal contraband inside the vehicle which lead them to the discovery of more than six ounces of methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle.”

 

The driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Rusty Dale Campsey of Blossom, was arrested for manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than four grams but less than 200 grams.  

Deputies also seized over $600 cash and drug paraphernalia that Campsey had in his possession.  

“I want to commend the patrol division for their efforts in the apprehension of this individual and taking these narcotics off our streets and out of our neighborhoods”.

Campsey remains in the Lamar County Jail with a bond totaling $20,000.
