Magalle “Maggie” Valentin, 55, of Paris

Magalle “Maggie” Valentin, 55, of Paris, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Father Denzil Vithanage officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Maggie, the daughter of Gualberto & Aidali Padilla, was born Aug. 22, 1962, in New York City, NY.

She attended schools in New York and moved to Paris in February of 2001. She worked a number of years in home health care as a CNA. Twelve years ago she began her career with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department as a correctional officer.

She was a beloved member of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department family. The department was quoted as saying, “We lost a woman with a heart of gold, who loved everyone.”

Maggie was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her sons, Brian Valentin of Paris and Derek Valentin Shreveport, LA, her parents, Gualberto “Bobby” & Aidali “Gigi” Padilla of Glendale, NY, a sister, Debbie Padilla-Kruk & husband Brian of Sparta, WI, a nephew, Danny Kruk, and a niece, Kayli Kruk along with a plethora of friends.
