Lyle Edward “Abe” Taack 72, of Paris, died at 3:56 AM, Saturday, June 1, 2019, at UT Health Tyler. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2019, in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Tony Cunningham officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Lyle was born December 20, 1946, in Hereford, Texas to Ben Albert Taack and Imogene Millard Taack. He graduated from Paris High School in 1965 and married Sandra Kay Johnson on February 5, 1965 in Paris. Mr. Taack was a produce supervisor for 43 years and worked locally for Safeway, Brookshires, and Super One. He spent 14 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma employed at Hale Halsell Wholesale Grocers. Later, he worked for North Lamar ISD and Atwoods in Paris. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Taack of Paris; three children, Keith Taack and wife, Melissa of Nacogdoches, Holly Spann and husband, Chris, and Tamra Price and husband, Josh, all of Paris; seven grandchildren, Lia Frost and husband, Greg, Bria McCarty and husband, Tyler, Randy Graumann, Tia Ballard, Timmy Ballard, Sean Price and wife, Jodi, and Ashlyn Price; three great-grandchildren, Allie Jo, Riley, and Makenzie; one brother, Bill “Rusty” Taack and wife, Sharon of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Nancy Fuller Hill of Lubbock, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James “Fuzzy” Taack; and one sister, Patsy Taack Shelton.
