Lydia Ruth Caudle, 96, of Paris, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at her home.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. Duane Falk officiating. Burial will be made in Manchester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, Feb. 12 th from 5 – 7 p.m.
Mrs. Caudle, the daughter of Willis Hill “Bud” Hamil and Fay Whittle Hamil, was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Manchester, TX. She attended school in Manchester. In 1955, Lydia Ruth went to beauty school in Sherman and became a licensed beautician. She worked for her aunt, Dorothy Hamil, at Main Beauty Shop on North Main Street. The shop then moved to South Main Street, and Dorothy sold the shop. Later Lydia Ruth bought the shop and in 1978, moved it to 17 th Street S.E. She continuously worked for 70 years, retiring in Nov. 2024, at the age of 94. She was a faithful member of Springlake Baptist Church. One of her greatest joys was reading her Bible, especially the Old Testament. She enjoyed gardening and raising tomatoes and couldn’t resist picking them when they turned any shade of pink.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ben Caudle, who passed away on July 1, 1991, a son, David Caudle, an infant son, Berry Wayne Caudle, a grandson, Clint Caudle and five siblings, Edward Hamil, Robert Hamil, Welford Hamil, Margaret Hamil, and Wendell Hamil.
Survivors include a son, Billy Caudle and wife Carolyne, a granddaughter, Jamie Neal, a great granddaughter, Lauren Wagley, and siblings, Bobby Hamil and wife Luvenia, Linda Sue Strickland, Judy Jamar, and Durrell Hamil along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
