GOOD. Water clear; 48 degrees; 4.78 feet low. Fish between the cold fronts for the best success. Bass are good using football head jigs and spoons off ledges in 30-40 feet of water. The crappie are good on crappie jigs tipped with minnows.
GOOD. Water clear; 55 degrees; 48.92 feet low. Largemouth are around the edges of hydrilla using Texas rig plastics in craw pattern. White bass and striped bass are good below 30 feet following shad balls. Catfish are great on stinkbait and cut bait. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 51-57 degrees; 2.64 feet low. Catfish are starting to move shallow with the best bite on warm days using fresh cut shad, or punch bait. Crappie are being caught at the Derricks and the dam and bridges. Bass are slow in 8 feet at the fishing piers at the Lake Arrowhead State Park boat ramps. SLOW. Water clear; 58-64 degrees; 0.42 feet above. Bass are making runs to the shallows for the spawn. Fish with typical baits to catch aggressive males and a few females. GOOD. Water clear; 52 degrees; 0.77 feet low. Full moon this next week will push another wave of fish shallow. Bass are good scattered shallow along the edge of grass and on docks, and hanging around creek mouths getting ready to push into the canal to spawn. When the water temperature is closer to 60 degrees the bite will turn on. Crappie are fair on main lake brush piles. White bass are fair on the main lake. Bass fishing in Ladybird Lake is good. FAIR. Water stained; 51 degrees; 0.11 feet above. Black bass are good shallow on creature baits. Crappie are fair using minnows and small jigs on the structure edges and above brush piles. Catfish are good on cut and prepped bait.
GOOD. Water clear; 57 degrees. Largemouth bass are good on beds in the backs of coves in the reeds. Throw your favorite plastics in watermelon or pumpkin.
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 3.11 feet low. The fishing in the early part of the week was best, influenced by the approaching cold front. The fishing after the front’s passage was more difficult use white 5/8 ounce Hazy Eye Slabs equipped with stinger hooks raised slowly off the bottom have been very effective. Crappie are slow using minnows and jigs. White bass are fair around the mouths of creek beds on small slabs. Blue catfish are good on cut baits.

Good. Water dirty; 56 degrees; 7.66 feet low. Largemouth bass to 7 pounds are excellent on shad or craw color square bill crankbaits, white/chartreuse spinnerbaits or chatterbaits around stick-ups, rocky shorelines in 2- 6 feet of water. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs as far up Brady Creek as you can go on stick-ups or stumps. White bass are slow on slabs and live bait around bait fish schools. Catfish are slow on shrimp, and chicken liver on jug lines.
GOOD. Water lightly stained, 67-70 degrees. Largemouth Bass are good on reed beds and structure in 5-10 feet of water using jigs, soft plastics and spinner baits. Red drum have been picking up for shoreline anglers and boaters casting and trolling crankbaits and swimbaits, using live tilapia and crawfish in 5-15 feet of water. Channel catfish have been good on shrimp, worms, and cheese bait around the jetties and reeds close to the dam area.
GOOD. Water stained; 47-53 degrees; 4.28 feet low. All ramps are open, and the lake is fairly clear. Water temps can vary from the low to high fifties in one day, depending on the weather and amount of sunlight. Sand bass are in full pre-spawn mode, feeding heavily on shad. If you see some birds working, take a look! There may also be a few hybrids and blue catfish underneath them. Soft plastics and slabs have been working well. Largemouth bass should be in pre-spawn mode, lurking in deeper water near their usual spawning areas. Try black/blue Craw Jigs and other big slow moving baits for the sometimes sluggish fish. Water temperatures suggest the crappie may be moving shallow to the north end, but staying deeper in the southern end. Minnows and jigs are both working, if the fish can be found. Largemouth bass up to 6 pounds are fair on shad or craw color square bill crankbaits, brown/orange Texas-rigged plastic worms or jigs, white/chartreuse spinnerbaits around timber, rocky shorelines and docks. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs in brush piles and docks. White bass are slow on slabs, swimbaits, and live bait along the main lake channels, humps, and ridges around bait fish schools. Catfish are good on shrimp, chicken liver, and live bait drifting near Flat rock park and Sunken Island.
FAIR. Water lightly stained; 53 degrees; 4.86 feet low. White bass are fair trolling up the river with RatLTraps, and on mainlake points using jigging spoons in 30 feet of water. SLOW. Water clear; 55-59 degrees; 1.25 feet high. With this warming trend we will see 61 to 62 degree water by the end of weekend. Bass are very slow stuck in transition trying to figure out these cold fronts versus warming trends, but some bass are being caught on trees with moving baits and plastics. Try black/blue in muddy water and watermelon red in clear water. Fish in 2-3 feet and really concentrate as this time of year one bite could be the bite of a lifetime. SLOW. Water lightly Stained, 65 degrees. Catfish have been fair on cut baits such as tilapia, carp and shad for both shoreline fishermen and boaters alike. Channel catfish have been fair on cheese bait and chicken livers. Red drum are starting to pick up trolling spoons and crankbaits. Boaters and shoreline fishermen are seeing fair results on live tilapia, shrimp and crawfish.
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 53-57 degrees; 0.91 feet low. Bass are good along grasslands and open points using Alabama rigs, jerkbaits, and your favorite plastics in watermelon and pumpkin. Striped bass are good with lots of surface action following birds mid lake to Potters Creek using small swimbaits, top waters, and anything shad colored or clear. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 50-56 degrees; 1.58 feet low. Largemouth bass are starting to migrate to the banks to spawn. Fish creek channel docks using weightless Texas rigs, senkos, and red/black chatterbaits. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows around docks, bridge pylons, or brush piles in 10-18 feet of water. White and hybrid bass are excellent following the shad 30-40 feet of water using silver slabs. Catfish are good on main lake humps or baited holes using frozen or live shad. FAIR. Slightly stained; 46 degrees; 1.83 feet low. Few anglers on the lake but fishing should pick up as the spring weather sets in. Largemouth bass are good in deeper water using umbrella rigs.
GOOD. Slightly stained; 55 degrees; 0.53 feet low. Catfish are good on baited holes in 18-24 feet of water using liver, shrimp, and catfish bubblegum. Many folks are having success under the 1097 bridge as well as in the high lines. Hybrid bass are schooling in 28-35 feet of water trolling with a hellbender and a pet spoon, or using your electronics with the deadsticking technique, thumping or splashing. White bass and hybrid bass have started moving up into the shallows, but may push deeper with the cold snap. Crappie are shallow in 12-17 feet of water near timber and drop-offs using minnows, Constant Pursuit Outfitters plastics or Miss Bacon Bait, Lone Star Crappie Jigs, or minnows. They should begin to spawn when water temperatures reach 59-62 degrees. Small male black bass are being caught on beds with the occasional big female. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 58 degrees; 3.69 feet low. Catfish are good in 5-10 feet of water on worms, soap baits, and Big Marv’s punch bait. Largemouth bass are good in 5-10 feet of water near structure on crankbaits and RatLTraps. White bass good 5-10 feet of water near the dam. Crappie are good in 2-5 feet of water on minnows. GOOD. Water stained; 55-60 degrees; 41.58 feet low. Fishing is up and down with the cold fronts. Blue catfish are good with some 50-pound catches. Fish near the mouth of creeks in 30 feet of water, and in the creek bends in 15feet of water using fresh cut carp, tilapia and shad. Largemouth bass good shallow using square bills on rip rap, rock, points ledges, bluffs, flipping hardwoods, and flats near the river channel. White bass are good on river on rapids and on north end using small crankbaits, and spec jigs. Crappie are good in 25-30 feet of water in the hardwoods. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 60 degrees. Black bass are good in spawning mode on beds in structure and rocks. Use slow moving baits like plastic worms, or crankbaits. FAIR. Water Stained; 46-47 degrees; 6.38 feet low. The crappie bite has been good on Lake Fork the past week on both minnows and jigs. Water temperatures are on the rise and fish are on the move. Right now you can still catch numbers of fish in 35 feet of water and deeper on timber, suspended and roaming. A few bigger fish being caught in the mid range depths around 18-25 feet of water. Getting a few reports of a handful of crappie in shallow water less than 10 feet, but the general consensus is the spawn is still a few weeks out. The low lake levels will create new challenges due to exposed timber on the shallow north end. The next few weeks will show just how difficult it may be to get to some of those bigger fish that push up into 5-18 feet of water to spawn. Lake Fork is still one of the premier crappie lakes in the country and I expect we will see some huge crappie being caught for the next two months. SLOW. Water lightly stained; 41 degrees; 3.06 feet low. The bite is fluctuating with the cold fronts, but similar patterns between fronts. Crappie are slow near the crappie house using minnows and jigs. Sand bass are good and the spawn is on in the river biting on silver spoons, and spinner baits. Catfish are still good on jug lines around the first bridge, or using fresh cut bait.
SLOW. Water lightly stained; 49 degrees; 0.09 feet low. Bluecats have been biting good this week, with the most active fish being caught in 4-11 feet of water, on cut shad. Areas with warmer surface water temps are showing to hold feeding fish and should be areas for anglers to explore. Thoroughly fishing an area by making short moves, is working to pick up these fish as they are often roaming. The best bite has been during mid-morning hours and late night 9 p.m to midnight. Shad are scattering during warmer daylight hours, but are regrouping after the sun sets and the temperatures drop, so bait catching will be easiest during early morning or late night trips out. White bass are good up river on Twister Tail jigs. Blue catfish are good on jug lines baited with shad or ZOTE soap. Yellow catfish are slow. White bass are fair, stick a spot when you find a school even if there is time between catches. Deadsticking with beetle spins, small jigs, and small slabs is working best to get the fish suspended 30-40 feet of water. The fish that are shallow are inactive hugging the bottom. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 50 degrees; 0.17 feet above. Fish between fronts for the best bite. Largemouth bass are fair near structure with spinnerbaits and shaky head jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs near the mouth of creek channels. Catfish are good drifting with cut bait.
FAIR. Water lightly stained; 53-57 degrees; 1.94 feet low. Largemouth bass are slow with some big girls moving up to spawn. Fish a soft plastic bait that you have confidence in and rig it whatever way you like, just fish it slowly, at the entrance of coves and secondary points with any kind of hard cover. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows transitioning to 10-15 feet of water on trees and brush, but some still deep in 20-30 feet of water on structure. Black bass are good on Alabama rigs and jigs targeting deep water structure 20-30 feet of water. Catfish are very good in 1-10 feet of water on cut shad. Some still deep on the deep water flats in 25-30 feet of water. Bluegills are setting up on brush piles in 15-25 feet of water biting on pieces of earthworms. Bass are good, the spawn is right on schedule with 5 pound catches coming on beds. Flipping baits to beds with anything white will bring them in the boat. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 1.72 feet low. White bass are fair in deep water, 32-65 feet, near river channels using jigs or live shad. Hybrid stripers are slow, but can be picked off every once in a while mixed in with the white bass. Catfish are steady with a good bite most days drifting cut shad or chicken breasts. Check near wind blown points and flats near creek channels. Catfish can also be caught anchoring 1-24 feet of water and drifting the shallow points and flats this time of year as the water warms. Crappie are fair to good all over the lake in 10-35 feet of watern using minnows and jigs. A lot of them will be holding tight to cover, but more are beginning to roam. GREAT. Water clear; 55 degrees; 0.61 feet low. Water temps fell again after the cold front. A few bass made beds before the front hit, but there should be a hard push for the spawn after this cold front. Largemouth bass are good on Texas rigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and weightless senkos.
FAIR. Stained; 52 degrees; 0.35 feet above. The bite is slow after the cold fronts. White bass are up in the rivers biting on spoons. Bass are shallow getting ready to spawn, biting on red RatLTraps. Crappie are migrating back from the river into the main lake staging to spawn. Catfish are good in 12-18 feet of water on cut bait.
FAIR. 56 degrees. Water lightly stained; 2.28 feet low. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits and swimbaits sitting on beds in structure. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs near creek channels. Catfish are fair on cut bait, moving shallow as the water heats up.
FAIR. Water lightly stained; 44 degrees; 48.55 feet low. Black bass are good shallow using chatterbaits and crankbaits. White bass are good on spoons in the creeks. Striped bass are fair deadsticking with small slabs. Catfish are good drifting with cut bait.
SLOW. Water stained; 51 degrees; 52.18 feet low. Bass are good on plastics, grubs, and creature baits. Walleye are good on minnows and dropshots with a vertical presentation or bottom bouncers. A small 3 inch underspin hopped around 10-12 feet or a chatterbait in 8-10 feet is working as well. We have officially seen a few beds made in shallower water, the water is still a little cool for a full on spawn, but the bucks know better than we do. The crappie population is good. Bass are good on big eyed jigs and shimmy shakers and small square bills in 3-9 feet of water near boat docks. Crappie are good in 20-25 feet of water on timber in the river channel. Sand bass are good up river with anglers lined up throwing RatLTraps, and spinnerbaits. Catfish are good along the river and in baited holes using night crawlers. With few catches in the lake on live bait and small flukes. Catfish are starting to pick up with a few eater size fish and a few trophy size fish being caught. All Catfish being caught on cut shad. Blue catfish are slow in shallow water on cut shad. Hybrid bass are slow on cut bait drifting 10-15 feet of water. Crappie are slow on brush piles using minnows and jigs.
SLOW. Water stained; 60 degrees; 3.00 feet low. Fishing is still tough but getting better. Bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits and junebug soft plastics. Crappie and bass are starting to bed, as the water temperature hovers near 60 degrees. Catfish are slow.
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 47 degrees; 1.98 feet low. White bass are good to great starting midday. Large schools are roaming the deep flats in 33-42 feet of water hugging closer to the bottom to three feet. Success with half ounce slab with multiple crappie jigs tied 12 inches apart. Crappie are good in the main creek channels bridges and structure. Largemouth bass are good on structure in 15-18 feet of water using umbrella rigs. GOOD. Water clear; 50-56 degrees; 2.25 feet low. Crappie are slow, but starting to stage for their spawn. A few nice catches on jigs and minnows in 20 feet of water have been reported. White bass are slow on slabs in main lake points and humps in 35-40 feet of water fished slowly using the deadstick technique. Catfish are fair on Danny King’s Punch Bait on a #4 Treble Hook in timber on the Richland Arm. The larger blue catfish tend to move into the shallower water, 5-10 feet, as the water warms during the day. GOOD. Water stained; 56 degrees; 3.49 feet low. Bass are fair some shallow on bedsbusing crankbaits on points, ditches and drains. Switch to Carolina rigs or drop shots near the creek channel ledges. FAIR. Stained; 56 degrees; 1.23 feet high. Spring time fishing activity is coming in the next week after the up and down fishing brought on by the cold fronts. Warmer weather and water temperature will bring more fish into the main lake. Crappie are fair moving out of the creek into the main lake using crappie jigs or minnows. FAIR. Water stained; 51 degrees. 38.90 feet low. Fishing is improving as the water temperature rises with the warmer weather. Crappie are fair in deeper brush piles using minnows and jigs. Bass are fair moving shallow to spawn. Catfish are fair on live and cut bait coming out from flats to deeper water. Blue cats are biting on chicken liver.
FAIR. Water stained; 42 degrees; 1.72 feet low. Fishing is similar as the water temperature stays in the low 40s. Crappie are good hitting jigs and minnows in 10-14 feet of water. Catfish are slow. Bass are slow with few catches coming in.
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 45 degrees; 3.11 feet low. The fishing in the early part of the week was best, influenced by the approaching cold front. The fishing after the front’s passage was more difficult use white 5/8 ounce Hazy Eye Slabs equipped with stinger hooks raised slowly off the bottom have been very effective. Crappie are fair on brush piles using minnows and small jigs near creek channels. Catfish are good drifting with cut bait.
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 2.39 feet low. Light winds and sunny skies have the fish on the move. The striped bass and white bass have begun a late move up the lake, and we are seeing fish as far as the mouths of the creeks in 25-30 feet of water. Swimbaits and small flukes continue to put fish in the boat and 25-30 feet of water. Crappie are fair on bridge pilings and mid depth timber using jigs in gray ghost and white and chartreuse are working well. Large trophy blue catfish have been slow this past week. Look for these fish to turn on in shallow timber 2-10 feet of water. Eater sized fish in the 2-4lb range are stacking up on main lake points when the wind blows. Cut shad has been the ticket. Largemouth bass are good in extreme shallow water on the far north and west ends of the lake. Weightless flukes and small shallow water crankbaits around lay downs and potholes are working best. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 49 degrees; 1.30 feet low. The spawn is approaching and bass are seeking shallow warmer water working river ledges, drop-offs and humps biting on swimbaits. FAIR. Water stained; 55 degrees; 2.38 feet low. The water level is 169.3 with no generators running. Toledo Bend had two cold fronts in our area this week with cold rain and heavy winds dropping the water temperatures down at night to the 30s-40s. Water clarity this week is hard to say. Not too many boats on the water. Water temperature in the main lake deep water is 55 degrees and further back in the creeks it is 50-58 This week for bass is probably a blowout due to heavy North winds. Crappie were on the bite earlier this week in shallow water. Find that magic crappie water temperature of 58-degree and put them in the sack. Good luck and tight lines! GOOD. Stained; 55 degrees; 20.61 feet low.Largemouth bass are good with shad or red colored crankbaits with 5-12 feet runners, shaky heads, 4-6 inch trick worms, and weightless senkos around grass. SLOW. Water stained. 50 degrees. 12.66 feet low. Cold fronts have slowed the bite. Channel catfish are slow in 35 feet of water biting on fresh cut or prepared bait. Crappie are slow holding in deeper water suspended at 37-38 feet about 10 feet off the bottom using jigs and minnows. Fish the cattails with senkos and weedless swimbaits. Crappie are good dropping crappie jigs and live minnows straight down brush piles. Hybrid striped bass are good on live shad. SLOW. Water stained; 40 degrees; 22.33 feet low. The crappie are slow on structure and brush piles using small jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are fair shallow using crankbaits. Catfish are fair on cut and prepped bait.

White bass are fair on points, humps, and ledges on small chartreuse/white slabs and small silver/chrome slabs deadsticking, slab size is critical. Some fish reported being caught in shallow water on warmer days. Crappie are fair to good around boat docks and on brush piles, and bridge columns on minnows and jigs. Some anglers have reported good catches way up the river. Shallow fish have been caught on warm days also. Bass are fair on boat docks and in standing timber on crankbaits and finesse baits.
