Loyce E. Hicks, 100 of Pottsboro, formerly of Paris, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 in Denison, Texas.
Funeral services have been set for Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hicks and Rev. Richard Bult officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
He was born in Direct, Texas on February 19, 1919 to George Washington and Cora Bell Hicks. He married Ruth Baze in 1942 and were married over 70 years until her passing.
He was a very hard working man that loved to spend time in the country and to fish. Loyce was a kind, gentle man that would give his last penny to anyone in need.
He is survived by his daughter, Sonia White; his son, David Hicks and wife Linda; grandchildren, Marty Hicks, Tracy Denny and husband Todd, Tonya Bult and husband Richard; Shawn Hicks and wife Melinda, Amber Hicks, Michelle Trace; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son, Edward Hicks; parents, George Washington and Cora Bell Hicks; grandchildren, Jason Hicks, Krystal Woodard, Shane Shoemate; 6 brothers; 2 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Marty Hicks, Tyler Hicks, Todd Denny, Trey Denny, Don Hicks and Jonathan Land.
