In response to recent events taking place across America, iconic “Looney Tunes” characters Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam will forever change in the popular cartoon.

Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam will not carry guns in the new “Looney Tunes Cartoons” series on streaming service HBO Max.

“We’re not doing guns,” executive producer Peter Browngardt told The New York Times. “But, we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in.”

Browngardt further explained that just because the characters are disarmed doesn’t mean you won’t see the cartoon violence synonymous with the animated franchise. There will still be their infamous Acme dynamite explosions and other antics.
