While only 11 years old, aspiring dancer Kenlie DeMedio is well on her way to achieving her dream of becoming a professional dancer.

DeMedio, a student at Britney’s Steppin’ Out Dance Studio, is celebrating being selected as one of 20 dancers nationwide who will attend the Step It Up 2019 Summer Intensive workshop in Los Angeles this July.

“I have always loved dancing and performing and am so excited for this huge opportunity,” she said.

A student at Crockett Middle School, DeMedio has been dancing for the past seven years and trains at least 13 hours a week in the studio.

“She never gives up and always gives 110%,” said her dance teacher Britney Drake. “When she started training with me she was 7-years-old and over the years I am amazed by her growth not only as a dancer but her worth ethic also.”

Along with the opportunity to spend a week training at some of the hottest places in LA, DeMedio also received at $250 scholarship.

“She will not only be dancing while in LA, but also acting, filming, and doing photo shoots at different locations,” explained Drake. “This will teach dancers how to be top performers and how it can potentially be a career for them.”

Of course, when asked what she wants to be when she grows up DeMedio said a professional dancer.

“She is dedicated, full of passion and she can achieve anything she sets her mind and heart on,” said Drake.
