Local businesswomen, Britney Drake and Christine Lenoir are bringing Live Thankfully to Paris, Texas!
“Live Thankfully is a community service project that helps feed underprivileged kids through Christmas Break,” said Britney Drake who owns Britney’s Stepping Out Dance Studio.
The idea came from Christine’s cousin, who started Live Thankfully in Decatur, Texas.
“I got to experience and see just how blessed everyone was from the whole experience,” said Christine Lenoir with Main Trading Company.
Live Thankfully has been a year in the making for Britney and Christine, and with so much support from friends, family and other local business owners, Live Thankfully Paris, TX was launched.
“There is a huge need to bring out community together,” said Britney. “With so much going on in our country and so much division, we just want to bring out community together to work on one service project.”
While it may look like a food drive, Live Thankfully is a lot more than that.
“It’s where a community comes together, and we as parents have the opportunity to teach our kids to be servants and to give back to our community. It also teaches them to always be grateful for what they have, but to recognize when someone is in need,” said Christine.
“What we love most about this organization is that the families we help are kept completely confidential and even the families who come help are those who receive the groceries,” added Britney.
There are many different ways the community can get involved and help, from dropping off non-perishable items, donating online or sponsoring their events.
“Our Live Thankfully is one time a year, one day. that people come together, and we help feed underprivileged kids that maybe can’t afford it over Christmas break.”
