This weekend, rodeo fans will begin packing into the all-new Dickies Arena, as the 2020 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo will kick-off.

The Dickies Arena got its formal welcome last year when the King of Country music George Strait took to the stage for the first time after its completion. Now they are just about ready to welcome pro rodeo stars to the new home of the rodeo.

2019 was the last year that the rodeo would be held in the famed Will Rogers Coliseum and in true cowboy style, the FWSSR committee went all out to bid the old arena farewell.

However, not to go full tilt to a modern arena, the committee did ensure during the design and construction of the Dickies Arena that it would give more than just a few tributes to its iconic predecessor. Now it’s not just the bucking chutes, and design layout, but also the arena dirt has made its way to welcome the first of many thousands of people to watch and cheer the competitors that will take center stage.

In preparation for the next era, FWSSR said in April of 2019, “Gallery level seats are $30, maintaining 2019 prices for evening and weekend performances.”

“Our fans have supported us for 123 years, and we owe it to them to continue keeping our rodeo tickets affordable,” said Stock Show President and General Manager, Brad Barnes. “We’re very excited to enhance the experience for our fans in Dickies Arena while ensuring Stock Show rodeo performances provide the best value of any sport or entertainment offering in the Metroplex.”

The fan experience promises to be second-to-none. As Dickies Arena’s anchor tenant, the Stock Show will now feature rodeo performances in the nation’s most modern and unique facility for the sport of rodeo.

The proximity of gallery level seating to the arena floor action gives each spectator an exciting, engaging, and intimate rodeo experience. Besides access to 12 concession stands and three concession bars, Dickies Arena will provide incredible sightlines from every seat, dedicated concession seating, and ample standing room with stunning end-zone views.

Tremendous Stock Show rodeo action and suspense are also on tap for Dickies Arena guests with a new format.

“We’re introducing our FWSSR ProRodeo Tournament to the 2020 Fort Worth Stock Show,” said Barnes. “The world’s best rodeo athletes will compete in a bracket-style tournament and gunning for their share of a $1 million payout, which takes the Stock Show’s rodeo to exciting new heights.”

The FWSSR Pro Rodeo Tournament will also welcome a new event, Women’s Breakaway Roping, to the seven events featured in years past. Those events include Bareback Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding.

Besides the Stock Show’s ProRodeo Tournament, other special Stock Show rodeo performances featured in Dickies Arena will continue to include the Best of the West Ranch Rodeo, Best of Mexico Celebraciõn, Cowboys of Color Rodeo, Bulls Night Out PRCA Extreme Bull Riding and Rodeo X Team Competition.

If you want to be apart of celebrating the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s inaugural rodeo performances in the brand new Dickies Arena between Jan. 17 and Feb. 8, you’ll need to secure your tickets now.

And never forget, “this thing is legendary.”
