Lance Michael Johnson 48, of Paris, died at 10:00 PM, Monday, August 13, 2018 at his home. A memorial service is set for 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ. The family will receive friends following the service in the foyer of the church. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Lance was born January 21, 1970 in Tyler, Texas to Horace and Nina Sue Nelson Johnson. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler and attended Tyler Junior College receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He married Cari Doñel Smith on July 18, 1992 in Tyler. Mr. Johnson coached soccer, volleyball, and tennis at North Lamar High School and was an All American Soccer Player. Lance was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Cari Smith Johnson; his two daughters, Selena Skye Johnson and Sophia Grace Johnson; his mother, Sue Johnson; two brothers, Eric Johnson and wife, Nicole and Ted Johnson and wife, Beth; mother-in-law, Peggy Smith; sister-in-law, Robyn Figgins and husband, Russell; brothers-in-law, Brad Smith and Rebecca Sheley and Jay Smith and wife, Penny; and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Johnson; one brother, Jay Johnson; and his father-in-law, Jerry Smith.
