“Our men working the hurricane disaster in Florida will be coming home this weekend,” said Lamar Electric Cooperative on their Facebook page.

“The major feeder line they had been working on is now back in service and small taps off the main line are being restored. Relief crews from other Cooperatives have arrived and will continue working on the many power lines that are still down. West Florida Electric Cooperative estimates that it will take several more weeks for full restoration.”

The Lamar Electric linemen that went to Florida are Scott Sansom, Drew Conder, Cory May, Dustin Dale, Caleb Walton, Ryan Dean, and David Roberts.

“In the past, many co-ops have come to the aid of Lamar Electric during ice storms; now we have the opportunity to return the favor,” said Lamar Electric General Manager, Jerry Williams.
