Lamar Electric Cooperative’s Government In Action Youth Tour representative, Clara Carpenter recently returned from Washington D.C. where she joined more than 150 other Texas teens on the trip of a lifetime.
Carpenter began her 10-day, all expenses paid adventure in Austin, where winners from across the state met one another and boarded the flight to Washington.
The students were able to explore monuments and museums, meet with elected officials, and forge lasting memories and lifelong friendships.
Carpenter, from Detroit High School, was announced the winner earlier this year.
