The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office recently announced its ‘Employees of the Year,’ with a husband and wife team taking tops honors in their respected departments.
Lamar County Deputy Liandro Sam Flores was named 2024 Lamar County Deputy of the Year.
Nominated by his peers, Deputy Flores holds the rank of Deputy Sheriff in the Lamar County Sheriff’s Patrol Division and has been with the Sheriff’s Office since December of 2023. He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
Sheriff Administrators say that Deputy Flores is an outstanding Deputy. His work is effective, precise, and documented correctly and promptly. Sam greets every shift with a smile and works hard to help his fellow Deputies and the citizens of Lamar County.
A co-worker said, “Sam always has a positive attitude no matter what we are dealing with on patrol”. Sam is always willing to go above and beyond to help the Deputies and the citizens in their time of need.”
Deputy Flores is licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and holds an Intermediate Peace Officer license and a Jailer license.
Deputy Flores wife, Lamar County Detention Sergeant Eryn Flores, was named 2024 Lamar County Detention Officer of the Year.
“This is the first time that the Sheriff’s Office has had a husband-wife team win these awards. Congratulations Sam and Eryn! Thanks for the great work you both do at the Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Scott Cass.
Eryn holds the rank of Detention Sergeant in the Lamar County Sheriff’s Detention Division.
Jail administrators say that “Eryn started in the jail after graduating high school and has matured into an excellent Detention Officer. Eryn is very meticulous, hands-on, and detail-oriented. Eryn’s leadership is evident in her current position as a Detention Sergeant overseeing her shift of seven Detention Officers and the operation of the jail. Eryn is steadfast in running her shift correctly, and under the standards put forth by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards”.
Her co-workers say “that Eryn is an outstanding Detention Sergeant! Eryn has great leadership skills. Eryn not only cares about work performance but how each of us is doing to have a better day. No matter how busy Eryn is she always will help us in any way”.
Hilleary Dollar was named 2024 Telecommunicator of the Year for the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
Hilleary has served with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office in the Telecommunication Division since July 2023.
Sheriff Administrators say “Hilleary has worked hard to become an outstanding Telecommunications Officer. Although not being a Telecommunicator on her own for very long, Hilleary recognized the deep importance of a critical job and met the task to get it accomplished.
A co-worker said “Hilleary has worked very hard to improve herself from where she began. Hilleary is a team player and cares about her co-workers, the Office, and the citizens of Lamar County. I can’t wait to see where she goes from here.”
Telecommunicator Hilleary Dollar holds a Basic Telecommunicator License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
“Good job to Deputy Flores, Detention Officer Flores and Telecommunicator Dollar,” said Cass.
