Lamar County resident Ray Null has announced his candidacy for the Texas House of Representatives for District 1.
“I am a concerned Texan resident that is worried about the state’s future.” Null said from his home in Paris Texas. “Property Taxes are too high, infrastructure is in need of repair, border security is weak, and reliable energy are all concerns Texans need to be aware of.”
“It’s clear that Texas needs to take care of Texas and not rely on Federal Assistance or allow Federal Hinderance, I will work for Texas, Null continued.
Null is a retired Lieutenant Colonel and a combat veteran serving in Desert Storm and the Army for over 25 years. Entering the military through an Army Scholarship, he was commissioned and assigned to Fort Benning, Ga. Attending and completing Airborne and Ranger Training, Null attended the Infantry Office Basic Course and then the Armor Officer Advanced Course, served in both Europe and the Middle East.
Null concluded his military career after commanding an AH-64 Apache Battalion. He was awarded the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star.
When Null returned to the civilian sector, he earned his Masters in International Studies at Troy State. His days at Booz Allen Hamilton found him working with and conducting business development with numerous large corporations and major industrial partners. Null was later employed by Raytheon and worked in Egypt, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
