With the success of the Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop program, neighboring counties have reached out requestion support in making sure their officers are protected also.

“We’ve had several requests over the past few months and our board felt we were in a place to help our neighboring counties and Red River is one of those counties that desperately need our help,” said Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop president Amanda Willows. “We have tremendous appreciation for the men and women who protect and serve all over this nation. When our neighbors in blue need help, we are there.”

The Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop board members met last week to discuss partnering with Red River County and a representative was appointed.

“We would like to thank Ronni Gibbs, a Red River County resident, and police wife, for heading up this committee to assist our neighbors,” said Willows.

The Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop committee will be working with Ronni and the committee formed in Red River County to assist with their fundraisers and ultimately provide their law enforcement with safety equipment needs that are beyond their budgets.

“All Red River County funds will be kept separate from the Lamar County funds to ensure your donations go to the officers who protect and serve your community,” said Willows.
