Kirk Ballard, beloved father, husband, brother, son, Pappy, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 28th , 2024 at the age of 67. Born and raised in Paris, TX, Kirk found beauty and joy in nature throughout his life. He was happiest at the lake where he spent countless hours fishing, camping, watching wildlife, and marveling at God’s creation.
A man of faith, joy, and spirited enthusiasm, Kirk dedicated his life early on to serving the Lord. He was a youth ministry and pastoring for many years. He always said that he felt closest to God in nature. He also touched many lives of students and co-workers as a Life Science teacher for many years mostly at Paris ISD.
He was deeply devoted to his family and cherished every moment with them. Whether it was gathering around a campfire, sharing a meal, or simply telling stories that echoed with laughter, he made family moments come alive. His joyful spirit reminded us all to celebrate life, treasure the wonders around us, and find God’s light in every day.
Kirk leaves behind his father, Dawson Ballard; his brother, Kriss Ballard and wife, Tena Ballard; beloved spouse, Beverly (Purvis) Ballard; his children, Britany (Ballard) Creamer and husband, Tyler Creamer, Caleb Ballard and wife, Samantha (Gentry) Ballard; and grandchildren, Avery Creamer, Easton Creamer, Weston Ballard, and a grandchild who will arrive in May. His vibrant presence will be deeply missed but joyfully remembered by all who knew him.
Kirk is preceded in death by his mother, Tommie Lou Slagle Ballard. His family will be receiving visitors at Bright-Holland Funeral Home on Sunday, November 3 rd 2:00-4:00.
In his memory, his family invites friends and loved ones to gather at Calvary Chapel Paris on November 4 th at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate a life filled with faith, laughter, learning, and love. Graveside to follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be: Kriss Ballard, Caleb Ballard, Kody Ballard, Tyler Creamer, Waymon Creamer, Scott Galyon, Gary Gentry, and Bradley Snodgrass. Billy Beard will serve as an honorary bearer.
