Judith Victoria Marando, 72, of Powderly, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Cremation was under the care & direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 7 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16th, at the Borderline Cafe in Powderly to celebrate her life.

Judy was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Bayshore, N. Y.

When her children were young she and her sons moved to Lamar County. She had various employment and most recently was an assistant at Borderline, where she was much loved and appreciated by the customers.

Judy was a devoted mother and was a loving and caring babysitter to the children she kept in her home. She was a very thoughtful person to all. Children who visited her home would always be given candy. She never left anyone out.

She was a courageous survivor of breast cancer and an avid supporter of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Pat, and a brother, Richard.

Survivors include two sons, Michael James Marando & fiancé Nikki Oliver and Stephen Joseph Marando both of Powderly, three grandsons, Evan Marando, Donald Brock Marando and Nicholas Joseph Marando, two sisters, Loraine and Harriett, and a brother, Roger along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
