Joyce Marie Wilson, 95, of Paris, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Heritage House of Paris.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24th at First Baptist Church Deport with Pastor Curtis Blake and Natalie Wilson officiating. Private burial will be made in Highland Cemetery at Deport. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Wilson, the daughter of Terry Lawrence Johnson & Merrell Hutson Johnson, was born April 29, 1931, in Deport, TX. She graduated from Deport High School and in Oct. 1948, she married Harry Dean Wilson building 64 years of family and memories before his death on Feb. 5, 2013.
Joyce had a long career working at Brookshire’s, A&P Grocery, Safeway, and Walmart. She retired and took care of her beloved grandchildren. Joyce was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Deport. An avid seamstress, she enjoyed making critter quilts, sewing, cooking for her family & others, and tending her garden and flowers beds. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Larry Dean Wilson and Jerry Don Wilson, and a daughter-in-law, Jackie Lynn Wilson.
Survivors include a son, Terry Joe Wilson, two daughters-in-law, Faith Shaffer and Patti Wilson, grandchildren, Kim Blake and husband Curtis, Steven Wilson, Jeremy Wilson and spouse Eduardo Garcia, Matthew Wilson, and Natalie Wilson, great grandchildren, Savannah Wintermute and husband Brian, Mallory Ramsey and husband Levi, Kaiser Schirman, and Brea Wilson, great great grandchildren, Annie Wintermute, Olivia Ramsey, and two great great grandsons who will be arriving this summer, along with a host of friends and extended family and her beloved dog, Scooter.
Honorary casket bearers will be: Matthew Wilson, John Wilson, Jay Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Steven Wilson, Johnny Holt, and Kyle Wright.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Highland Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 334, Deport, TX 75435.
