John Wayne Newberry, 68, of Hugo, OK, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 in Hugo. Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2022 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
John was born on June 27, 1953 in Paris, Texas the son of Louie Wayne “Pug” and Gladys Lucille Beaver Newberry. He had been employed with Merico, Kimberly Clark and had helped his dad with Two States Monuments. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church, had been past president of the Eagle Lodge, and loved drag racing.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Newberry; grandchildren, Gary Newberry and Heather Pelt and a great grandson, Reidan Allison. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Thomas Jordan.
