Joe Warren Ellison, was born on a farm in New Boston, Texas to parents, Samuel and Catherine Ellison on January 7, 1944.
“Cigar Joe” was a honkey tonk hero and natural born ladies man in his younger days. He took great pride in his appearance and was widely known from Northern Oklahoma to the Texas Coast for bringing the good time.
Later in life, Joe took to his roots and began farming. He was known around town for his tasty watermelons. One of his favorite things in the whole world was his John Deere Tractor. In his older years, and because of an earlier tractor incident, he would drive his John Deere lawn mower as transportation.
Joe was preceded in death by “his girl”, Desmer “Dee” Parrish; son, Doug Ellison; brother, Floyd Ellison; sisters, Catherine and Mary Jean.
His is survived by his step-daughter, Shelia Davis and her husband, Dwight Pillow and his four legged “little girl”, Tanna, whom he shamelessly spoiled.
