Joan Darlene Holladay was born on June 3, 1940 in Oxnard, CA. 83 years later in Paris, Texas on February 4, 2024 our hearts were filled with both sorrow and peace as one of the godliest women many have ever had the privilege of knowing peacefully went home to Heaven, as her devoted husband Bob sat by her side. Bob and Joan were married on August 17, 1967 and were married for 56 years.
Joan’s life was a testament to her unwavering love for our Lord and Savior, as well as her dedication as a wife, a mother, and a homemaker. She embodied grace, kindness and a profound sense of devotion to her family and community. Above all else, Joan was a servant to others, consistently putting the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness and generosity had no boundaries, and she lived her life in a manner that honored and uplifted those around her.
Joan was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth “Pete” Henshaw; her mother, Loretta Shaw; her aunt, Dorothy Amhrein; her grandson, Elijah Robinson; and her beloved twin sister, Judith “Judy” McLennan. She will also finally meet, hold, and love on her precious grandbabies and great-grandbabies who entered Heaven before they were born.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Joe Holladay; her children, Ken Holladay and wife Laurie, Kevin “Doc” Holladay and wife Polly, and Rebecca “Becky” Robinson; 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Their lives are forever enriched by the example of love and wisdom her life was to so many.
In celebrating Joan’s life, let us remember her warm, easy smile, her gentle spirit, and her faith. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire and guide us all. Wife, mom, grandmother, and friend, you will be deeply missed, but your light will shine on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you,
