Jesse (Jess) L. Nickerson III, 75, of Paris passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Marks officiating.
Jess was born in Bakersfield, CA on February 24, 1943, a son of Jesse Lee Franklin II and Ruth Ann (Willott) Nickerson. He married Teresa Jane Faulkner on September 4, 1982, in Paris. Jess graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and a law degree from the South Texas College of Law in Houston. Throughout his life, he served his country in the Air Force as an air traffic controller in Vietnam, practiced as an attorney in Paris and served as a County Judge in Camp County. Jess was an avid PJC basketball supporter, loved woodworking and enjoyed his horses on his ranch. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Jess is survived by his wife Teresa Nickerson; children Jennifer Whitley and husband Charles Whitley of Broken Arrow, OK, Jessica Nickerson of Dallas; grandchildren Priya, Adin and Gavin Whitley; three brothers William, John and Jim Nickerson and numerous nieces and nephews
