James W. Lynch, 92 years, of Paris

James W. Lynch died peacefully at Heritage House of Paris on June 17, 2018, at the age of 92.

James was born on December 28, 1925, in Chicota, TX. He married Betty Jean Daughtrey on May 19, 1945. After moving to Midland, TX, he began working in the warehouse of The Paul Hicks Company and eventually became part owner of the company. He retired in 1979 and returned to the Paris area where he enjoyed ranching and gardening until his health failed.

James was an active and dedicated member of the Bounds Baptist Church where he served as a deacon as well as other positions of leadership within the church. He was a former Trustee for the Red Hill Cemetery Association and a former member of the Powderly Volunteer Fire Department.

James is survived by wife of 73 years Betty Jean (Daughtrey) Lynch; children, Betty Scaff and husband Roger of Powderly, TX, Jimmie Kruntorad and husband John of Paris, TX; siblings, Sherry Brooks and husband Don of Arlington, TX, Robert Lynch and wife Jackie of Jefferson City, MO, Ralph Lynch and wife Peggy of Hugo, OK, and Charles Lynch and wife Katie of Huntsville, TX, sisters-in-law Fay Rook of Powderly, Belle Shepard of Flint, TX, and Nancy Daughtrey of Paris, TX. James also is survived by granddaughters Angela and husband Lee of Benton, IL, and Carin Campbell and husband Sid of Valley View, TX, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives & friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Hugh and Gertie Lynch, two brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20th, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Bright-Holland Funeral Home in Paris. A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bright-Holland Chapel with interment at Red Hill Cemetery in Powderly, TX. Rev. John McCollister and Roger Scaff will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate James’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bounds Baptist Church, P.O.
