Herbert Lee Parris, 82, of the Shady Grove Community

Herbert Lee Parris, 82, of the Shady Grove Community, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Paris First Assembly of God with Mickey Ellis and Jim Larson officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 till service time at the church.

Mr. Parris was born on October 14, 1935, in Winnsboro, Texas a son of Henry and Alice Mildred Brower Parris. He was maintenance supervisor for Pangburn Candy Company and also worked for Shaklee and Wynn’s Climate Control. He was a member of Paris First Assembly of God.

Herb liked working with wood and his family remembers he could fix anything. Even though he had no children of his own, he had a special place in his heart for all his nieces and nephews and he loved his little dog, Pepper. A special memory that Herb had was hunting with Skyler Brooks in the cold and he also enjoyed fishing.

He married Wanell Babb on June 1, 1968, in Fort Worth. She survives. He is also survived by sisters, Peggy Davis, Shirley Cambell, Sue Parris and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Perez and a brother John Parris.
