Helen Jean Hambright, 81, of Arthur City, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at her home.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Partain officiating. Burial will follow at East Delta Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Hambright, the daughter of Wayne & Daisy Blanche Simpson Akard, was born July 13, 1936, in Delta County.
On Jan. 5, 1957, she married John Wesley Hambright, building 59 years of family & memories before his death on Dec. 23, 2016.
While living in Dallas she worked at Fox Photo and at World Missionary Evangelism. Jean was a member of the Johntown Bible Mission.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Greta Easley, a sister-in-law, Anna Akard, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Cockrum.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Self & husband David of Paris, two sons, Steve Hambright and Scott Hambright both of Arthur City, grandchildren; Krystal Gordon & husband Jeff, David Self & wife Jennifer and Mark Self, great-grandchildren; Jacob Gordon, Juliana Gordon, & Jonathan Gordon, siblings; Dot Dankowski & husband Herb, Jessie Cockrum, Jerry Akard, and John Akard & wife Linda along with many nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be Mark Self, David Self, Jr., David Self, Sr., Jerry Akard, Jeff Akard and Herb Dankowski.
