Harold Lynn “Butch” Mills, age 70, of Paris

Harold Lynn “Butch” Mills, age 70, of Paris, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at his residence. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, June 25, 2018 in the Gene Roden Memorial Chapel of Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM on Sunday, June 24, also at Roden-Pryor.

Butch was born October 28, 1947, in Weslaco, Texas, a son of Bernice and Lela Porter Mills. He graduated from East Lamar High School. He married Betsy House on March 15, 1969, in Marvin.

He was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ for 49 years, serving as a deacon for several years and greeted people at the door for many more years. He entered the military in 1969 and was active in the National Guard until 1991. He retired as a Sergeant First Class.

He was a mechanic starting at the age of 12 when he began working at Crawford’s Garage in Pattonville. He worked on cars all of his life, up until his retirement from URS at Red River Army Depot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Elfreda White, and brother-in-law, Douglas White. Survivors include his wife, Betsy; one daughter, Kristie and husband, Michael Lee of Bogata; a son, Keith Mills and wife, Kacy, of Paris; a foster daughter, Paula and husband, Stephen Legate; five granddaughters, whom he adored, Bryce, Brenna, and Brookelee Mills, and Kimberlynn and Makayla Lee; one brother, Don and wife, Sherri of Port Orchard, WA; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
