Girl Scout Cookie drive show gratitude to first responders

The Girls Scouts of Northeast Texas are taking a different approach to their Care to Share program for the year of 2019.

Now, not only are Girl Scout cookie buyers able to make donatable purchases for our selfless military, but our first responders are also being honored for their services in keeping our communities safe.

“We want to treat our local heroes and show our appreciation for everything they do for our community,” says Stephanie Wooten, Troop Leader of Troop 7822.

If you are donating in person, the choice of where your donation goes is yours, first responders or military. However, if a donation is given through Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas’ online platform, the cookies will be donated to our military.

“Each donated box costs just the same as if you were buying one for yourself, 4$,” said Wooten.

This is also a great opportunity for the young girls involved with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas to develop relationships with our communities first responders and for them to learn more about and appreciate everything they do for us and our communities.

“At the end of our cookie season, the Girl Scout troop will take all the boxes donated to first responders and decide as a troop where they want to donate those cookies. It could be a local fire department, police department, EMS, etc. or a combination.”
