Georgia “Georgie” Ann (Cook) McCool, 68, of Paris, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Medical City Plano after a courageous battle with cancer.
Georgie, the daughter of Newt and Ruby Cook, was born June 12, 1957, in Grand Prairie, TX. She attended Delmar High School. On August 14, 1981, she eloped with the love of her life, Kenny McCool, building 42 years of family and memories before his death on June 12, 2024.
Georgie was employed by Chisum ISD for 29 years serving as the elementary cafeteria manager. She loved all the children who she had the privilege of crossing paths with like they were her own. Georgie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny McCool, her parents, Newt and Ruby Cook, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John D. and Virginia McCool, and a brother, David Cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Ashley Phillips (Michael Schleh), two grandchildren, Anzleigh Phillips and Maelee Phillips, siblings, Johnny Cook (Karen), Freddy Cook (Jo Evon), Mae Francis, Al Cook (Vickie), Gary Cook (Linda), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sandra Ritchey (Neil), Jesse McCool (Diane), John David McCool (Karla), Jackie McCool, and Becky Leisey, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Affectionately referred to as “Auntie” by many, her kindness, generosity, and love will deeply be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at Bright-Holland Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 9th from 6 – 8 p.m.
