George W. Crane, Jr., 93, of Paris, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at his home.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Those wishing to pay respects my visit the funeral home to sign George’s guest register book.

Mr. Crane, the son of George W. Crane, Sr. and Amanda McGrady Crane, was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Orlando, FL.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. In 1945, he moved to Paris and on April 6, 1945, he married Virginia Horn, building sixty-three years of family and memories before her death on Aug. 16, 2008.

He bought Paris Electric which then became Crane Electric. George owned and operated the business for fifty years. Following retirement he began working for Cooper Propane where he worked for twenty-five years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia, a daughter, Margie Pauline Crane, and three sisters; Corrine, Louise and Annie who all lived in Florida.

Survivors include his daughter, Carol Boettcher of Paris, grandsons; Chad Boettcher and John Boettcher both of Paris, two great-grandchildren; Chris Boettcher & wife Gracie and Aubrey Boettcher, a great great grandchild, Claire Lynn Boettcher along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
