Gary Lee Callaway 78, of Paris, died at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his home. Funeral services are set for 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 7, 2019 at His Place Fellowship with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Gary was born May 25, 1941 in Blythe, California to A.B. and Lois Erwin Callaway. He graduated from Stanton High School and married Wanell Hayes on June 3, 1959 in Stanton, Texas. She died September 11, 2000. Gary and Wanell owned and operated Taco Delite prior to his retirement and her death. He was a member of His Place Fellowship. Mr. Callaway was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his children, Gary Wayne Callaway and wife, Peggy, Deborah Kay Callaway, and Patrick Edward Bright; ten grandchildren, Susan Bruce and husband John and their children, Kaitlin Frazier and Christeon Barrios; Tess Callaway and Alex Gibson; Jennifer Hines and husband Eric; David Callaway and wife Hielly and their son, Mason Callaway; Danielle Callaway; Mark Callaway II and his children, Mark Callaway III, Alayna Callaway, Addie Callaway, and Callen Callaway; Aaron Bryan Callaway; Kevin Callaway and wife, Heather and their children, Brycen Callaway, Devin Burton, Seth LaRue, and Ryder Callaway; Katee Garrett; and Matthew Bright and wife Laney; two brothers, Jack Madison and wife Molly and Jay Madison and wife Christie; and three sisters, Mary Jane Pierce and husband Ed, Ronda McElvaney, and Nancy Carel and husband Ron. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy Erwin; his mother, Lois Haefele; his father, A.B. Callaway; one son, Mark Anthony Callaway; and a grandson, Eric Callaway.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Bright, Kevin Callaway, Christeon Barrios, Devin Burton, Eric Hines, and David Callaway.
