A Fannin County man faces up to 20-years in prison after being indicted on Monday in relation to a fatal hunting trip shooting in Oct. 2021.
According to court documents, 47-year old Jeromy Joe Spearman of Leonard, Texas, was charged with Manslaughter and Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence w/Intent to Impair.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 24, 2021, Fannin County Deputies responded to a call of a shooting in the 440 block of FM 1553, north of Leonard.
Upon arriving on the scene, deputies found 31-year old Christopher Travis Wrinkle of Leonard deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
According to reports, FCSO Investigators immediately began to discover evidence and inconsistent statements from Spearman, who was hunting with Winkle at the time of the incident.
If convicted, Spearman faces up to 20-years and a $10,000 fine for Manslaughter and up to 10-years and a $10,000 fine for Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence w/Intent to Impair.
