On Sept. 3, the first Fannin County Emergency Management Citizen’s Academy class graduated.
The students spent the last 8 weeks learning about various topics such as: Incident Command System, Incident Management, Severe Weather, Wildland Fire Operations, Search and Rescue, Fire/EMS Operations, Disaster Declarations, Mass Casualty Incidents, and many more.
The students now will move on to joining one of the volunteer programs under Office of Emergency Management.
The next Citizen’s Academy is scheduled for the Spring of 2025. The Office of Emergency Management will announce the application process and dates closer to December of 2024.
