It was a good run, but Excel Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday, Sept. 19. They lost 3-0 to Varsity Opponent. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as they apparently hadn’t forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Thursday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-8.
Even though they lost, Excel Christian Academy kept the net locked down and finished the game with 18 blocks with Paydan Handlin and Nayah Guillory leading in blocks. That’s a new trend for them: in their last five games they’ve averaged 10.
Excel Christian Academy’s loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Excel Christian Academy will venture away from home to face off against Champions Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept 24.
