The East Texas A&M men’s track and field 4×200 meter relay team blazed to a school record and world lead at the Texas Relays on Saturday as the Lions also completed the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos.
TEXAS RELAYS
Placed in the second heat, the Lions’ 4×200 meter relay squad of Oguz Uyar (Cannakele, Turkey), Armani Modeste (Castries, Saint Lucia), Ibrahim Fuseini (Accra, Ghana), and Enoch Fosuhene (Accra, Ghana) ran a time of 1:21.81 to pace out all teams at the meet.
The time recorded by the Lions on Saturday is a new school record as well as the fastest time in the world by any 4×200 meter relay team this season.
In the 200 meter dash, Fuseini ran a time of 20.09 for third. The wind in Austin was 3.0 meters per second during the race, thus his time is not eligible for the school record, but it is the fastest time in NCAA Division I thus far this outdoor season.
