Doris Jean Springer, 85, of Paris, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22nd, at BrightHolland Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Myre, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Doris, the daughter of W. A. and Flora Smith Newberry, was born July 28, 1932, in Roxton. She attended Lamar County schools. Following a number of years at Westinghouse, she began a career with Biard Oil Company where she worked until retirement. Doris was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Springer, her parents, and three brothers; E. J. Newberry & wife Dorothy, W. T. “Nub”
Newberry and Bill Newberry, a brother-in-law, Marty Joyce and a sister in-law, Neva Newberry. Survivors include a son, Donnie Springer & Patti Edelhauser of Paris, a daughter, Brenda de la Houssaye of Houston, grandchildren; Billy Springer & wife Marsha, Jennifer Miller & husband Nick, and Jamie Jarosek & husband Frank, great grandchildren; Kennedi Springer, Brody Springer, Damian Sliva, Jamie Barton & husband Scott and Jada Rogers, a sister, Della Ann Joyce of Paris, a brother, Robert Newberry of Paris, sisters-in-law, Bonnie Newberry of Paris and Mary Newberry of Carrollton, a brother-in-law, Howard Springer & wife Melba of Austin along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
