Donald Roger Byus was born January 25, 1939 in Springfield, Ohio to parents Gerald and Evelyn Byus. He joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for four years. While in the Air Force he met the love of his life, Monetta Smith. They went on to raise six children. He still found time to master the craft of woodworking and won many and various awards for his talent.
Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 15 at 11:00 AM at the Powderly Baptist Church. A visitation with friends and family will be one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Forest Chapel Cemetery.
Brother Mike Jones will officiate and pallbearers will be: Bret Byus, Darren Byus, Jeff Howard, Buddy Posey and Ryan Wood and George Wood.
Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Howard and grandsons, PFC Jessie Scott Rogers and Timmy Howard.
He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Monetta Smith Byus; children, Bret Roger Byus, Donnetta Carol Rogers, Melanie Heather Posey, Nancy Marie Wood, and Darren Ray Byus; 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
