More good news is coming out of Fort Worth this week at the 91st Texas FFA State Convention, as yet another Detroit FFA student claims a championship title.

On Wednesday evening, Trey Denny was named ‘Texas FFA State Champion and National Qualifier in the Proficiency Award area of Beef Production Entrepreneurship’.

“Trey graduated from Detroit High School in 2018 and is a sophomore in college which makes him a collegiate member of Detroit FFA,” said Detroit FFA on their Facebook page.

Denny received a $1,000 Scholarship and a 1st Place State plaque from Texas FFA President Cory Sinkule.

“Trey’s award was from five-years of record from his cattle operation, and his application will now be judged next week at National competition.”

The 91st Texas FFA State Convention held from July 15-19,  at the Fort Worth Convention Center, brings together more than 13,500 members and guests. Current delegates will elect the 2019-2020 state officers on Thursday, July 18 with the President and First Vice President announcement taking place at the final general session on Friday, July 19.
