Detroit FFA has successful weekend at Alumni Livestock Show in Clarksville

 The past weekend had loads of FFA students hitting the show ring, even with expected high temps for the weekend. 

“With a heat index predicted near 106 degrees, we are thankful for the exhibitors and their families who came and participated in the Detroit FFA Alumni Livestock Show in Clarksville,” said Detroit FFA Facebook post, “we are blessed and thankful for the sponsors who helped make today possible. We appreciate the FFA Officers and members who stepped up in this heat and worked a long and hot day to help serve others.”

Big winners from the weekend’s show were;

Lynzi Borders, who showed her market swine and breeding gilts to win a first, two seconds, and two thirds.

Jessie Duckworth placed second with her Commercial Heifer.

River Williams, River won 1st place with his Commercial Heifer and 2nd place in Pee Wee Heifer Showmanship.

Kanyon Williams was crowned the Champion Pee Wee Heifer Showmanship winner, and he also won second place in his class with his Commercial Heifer.

Jacey Smith won first place at the Detroit FFA Show with her Commercial Heifer.

Hannah Johnson, Hannah won second place in her class with her American Commercial Heifer.

Bri Johnson, Bri, and her heifer Jazzy won the Reserve Champion American Commercial Heifer Buckle.

Kalli Hughey, won Grand Champion Commercial AOB Heifer at the Detroit Alumni Show this past Saturday. 

“Thank you to our Alumni members who made today possible and for helping our FFA Chapter with the funds made from the show today. We appreciate everyone also who came out at 5 and 7 Friday night to help set up for this big event!” Detroit FFA said.

With a great turn out, you can be sure to see a few of these champions and placegetters at the upcoming Lamar County Fair next month or even at the upcoming RRV Fair Back-to-School Classic Night Show Aug 24 at the fairgrounds in Paris.
