The Delta County Sheriff’s Office has purchased an AED Unit specifically for the Delta County Jail thanks to a generous donation.
Jerry and Janet Currin donated in honor of the late Gerald Thomas.
An AED Unit, automated external defibrillator, is a medical device designed to analyze the heart rhythm and deliver an electric shock to victims of ventricular fibrillation to restore the heart rhythm to normal. Ventricular fibrillation is the uncoordinated heart rhythm most often responsible for sudden cardiac arrest.
“The donation was approved by the Delta County Commissioners Court,” said the DCSO online. “Sheriff Singleton and the staff at Delta County Sheriff’s Office appreciate your dedication to saving lives and serving your community.”
