Leave a lasting legacy in Downtown Paris for you, your business, or a friend or family member.
The 1st Street SE Revitalization Project, partially funded by a $500,000 grant, includes two areas for engraved brick pavers that can be purchased online.
“This is a positive way for people to leave their mark on downtown for many years,” Main Street Coordinator Cheri Bedford said. “This section of 1st Street includes the popular Dr. Pepper mural. Including sections of customized pavers, with names, clip art and logos, in this revitalization project will be add more points of interest in the area.”
The project will utilize brick pavers to reconstruct the street and sidewalk areas, with space reserved for engraved pavers in two areas of sidewalk. The engraved pavers, starting at $75 each, are available at www.ParisTexas.gov/Pavers. Engraved pavers can feature text, clip art icons, and business logos.
Pavers can also be purchased in person in the City Hall Annex at 150 SE 1st Street. Deadline to buy pavers for the first round of installation is Tuesday, Sept. 30. The second round of sales will open Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Earlier this month, the City of Paris received competitive bids for the 1st Street SE revitalization after securing a half-million-dollar Texas Community Development Block Grant for the renovation.
The project involves reconstructing the street and sidewalks, lowering them to enhance access to the adjacent buildings for people with disabilities.
The city expects to finalize the reconstruction project contract soon and expects work to begin in early to mid-October.
