Paris Community Theatre will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for all patrons, staff and volunteers, according to an announcement from PCT Board of Director President Sarah Kaminar.
Late Thursday afternoon Kaminar shared on the theatre’s social media page saying this decision is “due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Lamar County and surrounding areas … in order to provide the safest environment possible.”
In the announcement, Kaminar said this includes anyone – attending, auditioning, crew members or volunteers – 12 years or older. Kaminar said the PCT’s COVID-19 safety protocol requires all volunteers, staff and patrons to wear a mask while visiting the theatre.
The community theater has also postponed the relaunch of its education program, “as we do not feel we can guarantee the safety of our students and teachers at this time.
“Though this was not an easy decision, it is necessary to protect the safety and health of our staff, volunteers, and patrons,” Kaminar said. “We truly appreciate the support and love we have received from our patrons and sponsors; and we look forward to seeing you at auditions for our upcoming show Epic Proportions on August 23rd and 24th.”
