The City of Paris Utilities Department have been sharing about water during and beyond Water Awareness Week, observed May 3-9.
The department held its annual poster contest for elementary students, with this year’s theme “Water, the Original Energy Drink.”

Poster Judges were Daphney Young, Texas Commission On Environmental Quality, Carla Trent, The City of Paris Parks and Recreation, Becky Weems, The City of Paris Utilities Department, Kay Hayes, Lamar County Water, and Debra Burge, The City of Paris Fire Department Administration.

Paula Rater, with the City of Paris Public Library, also created a beautiful water display for the library to help celebrate Water Awareness Week.
The City of Paris and Lamar County Water also sponsored a hoop shoot at the Boys and Girls Club of Paris in celebration of Water Awareness Week.
They played the game “Horse,” but spelled the word “Water,” and the winners were:
