Due to logistical challenges, the planning committee for the City of Paris Back to School Bash is sharing the difficult decision to cancel the event for 2025. The decision will enable the committee to begin immediately working on restarting the event in 2026.
“This was a difficult decision for our group to make, but we’re confident it is right for having everything ready next year,” Mayor Mihir Pankaj said. “This event helps provide for the needs of students in Paris and Lamar County, and we want it to be the best it can be.”
The committee plans to donate the school supplies left over from the 2024 event directly to local schools. After evaluating the available inventory, committee members will contact school campuses to begin distribution.
The City of Paris appreciates the support of local businesses and individuals for their participation in the Back to School Bash and looks forward to continuing these partnerships next year.
