Christina Roxann Rutherford (Tina), was born January 5, 1969, in Brenham, Texas to parents Nolan Mitchell and Glenda Crump Mitchell. She attended Prairiland High School and graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with a Master’s in History. She worked at L3 Harris in the Supply Diversity Office.
Tina had a great sense of humor and wit. As a genius with an IQ of 145, she used it to advance her sense of humor. She was mother to 5 rescue dogs and 1 rescue cat.
She met her husband, Jon in a college statistics class. Tina would arrive early and Jon would barely make it on time. Having no seats left and seeing no one he knew on the first day, Jon decided to sit next to the prettiest girl in class. She warmed up to him quickly and the couple were together for 33 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jon; mother, Glenda Mitchell, and step-dad, Charles Speir; brother, Quentin Mitchell and wife, Shelley Short Mitchell; step-sisters, Sheila Speir Evans and Stacy Speir; step-brother, Doug Speir; nephew, Brandon Crawford, and nieces, McKenzie Mitchell and Marissa Mitchell as well as numerous friends and family.
Casey Fendley will officiate the service on Wednesday, June 5th at 10 AM at Fry Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris, Texas. A private burial will follow.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Hank Bryant, Alex Greenberg, Justin Larkin, Jason Lowery, Joey West and Doug Hickman.
