Fifth-grade student Claytie Simpson of Chisum Elementary School took home the Lamar County Junior Livestock Association Princess and Miss Congeniality on Thursday night.
“Claytie was shocked when she was crowned as Princess,” said Tiffany Simpson, Claytie’s mother. “She did not expect to be crowned and has been very excited.”
Prior to being crowned LCJLA’s Princess, Claytie sat in front of and was interviewed by three judges – Donna Taylor, Nancy Baker, and Tim Johnson along with parents and other candidates.
Tiffany said this win will be added to Claytie’s log for Chisum FFA, representing her FFA career.
Claytie is set to represent Chisum ISD’s Junior FFA at the 2021 Lamar County Junior Livestock Show this weekend.
