Paris Public Library houses a slew of different activities in the Children’s Room during the month of July.
“Join Ms. Tracy again this month for more fun and educational entertainment with great professional guests and other children’s programs,” the organization said.
Pre-K Story Time is scheduled for every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and is open to children aged 3-5 years old. Story Time is held outside on the Library’s deck. Classes will be canceled if it rains, and there will be no class on July 7.
Logo Design Contest for ages 5-17, designing for the Friends of the Library, the deadline is Friday, Aug. 27 by 6 p.m. For more information and to sign up, fliers are available in the Children’s Room.
One child per family can participate in July’s Texas Rangers Reading Club, open to ages 5-17. Participants can either read eight hours or eight books and earn discounted tickets for themself and their entire family for Sunday, Aug. 1 game against the Seattle Mariners. Registration for July’s Texas Rangers Reading Club starts on July 1 at 9 a.m. in the Children’s Room. The deadline to turn in the logged information is Thursday, July 22, by 6 p.m.
Other upcoming activities to be held outside* on the Library’s deck include:
- July 16, 11 a.m. – Educator Police Officer Curtis Garrett, open to ages 4-17, Crime Stoppers, safety, police.
- July 23, 11 a.m. – Performer Will Parker, whimsical high-energy and interactive music which includes singing, dancing, creating an improvised song, open to ages 3-12.
- July 30, 11 a.m. – Performer Brett Roberts, The Bible Wizard, open to ages 3-9.
*If it rains, listed performances will be moved into City Hall Council Chambers, 135 S.E. 1st St.
