Paris-area children are invited to let their favorite stuffed animal, toy, doll, or action figure spend the night at Sam Bell Maxey House State Historic Site, 812 S. Church St., during Livingston’s Sleepover on Friday, Aug. 21.
Toys dropped off from 5:30–6 p.m. Friday will enjoy an overnight adventure with Livingston the Lion, Sam Bell Maxey House’s beloved toy.
Children who drop off their toys at this free event will receive a snack, enjoy story time, and say goodnight.
Toys can be picked up from 1–3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22. Each child will receive their toy, a goodie bag, and an opportunity to enjoy yard games and activities at Sam Bell Maxey House. Pre-registration is required. To register, visit visitsambellmaxeyhouse.com.
Toys may be featured in photos documenting their overnight adventures with Livingston the Lion.
About Sam Bell Maxey House State Historic Site
The two-story home in Paris honors the life of Sam Bell Maxey, a Mexican-American War veteran, former Confederate general, and future U.S. senator. In this home, the Maxey family navigated the political and social landscape from Reconstruction-era Texas through the start of the First World War.
