CDC recalls peaches linked to salmonella outbreak, Texas residents affected

More peaches and peach-made foods have been recalled within 12 states by the CDC due to a recent salmonella outbreak.

Companies recalling Prima Wawona or Wawona Packing Company LLC peaches or foods made with them include Aldi, Food Lion, Hannaford, Kroger, Target, Walmart and Wegmans.

“Throw the peaches and food away, even if some was eaten and no one has gotten sick,” the CDC advises. “If you have loose peaches and can’t tell where they’re from, throw them out.”

According to the CDC, 23 people have been hospitalized due to salmonella. Within 12 states, including Texas, 78 people have been sickened due to the outbreak.

This investigation is ongoing to identify other retailers that may have been sold contaminated peaches,” according to the CDC.
